Welcome to all of my biology students at Kinnick High School.  I am your teacher for the remainder of the 2009-2010 school year.  My name is Rachel Nelson.  I am originally from Illinois, but have taught in Illinois, South Carolina, and North Carolina.  This will be my tenth year of teaching science.  I have taught high school and middle school.  For the last few months I have been working at The Sullivans School in special education.  I am thrilled to have the opportunity to teach Biology at Kinnick High School for the 2009-2010 school year. 

Biology this year will include the areas of:  scientific method/inquiry skills, cells and cellular processes, energy flow in the environment, genetics, biological evolution/diversity, and the interaction of organisms in their environment.  It is a lot and we will be very busy.
